Storyboard Commentary by Director Nicholas White

I have assembled a few stills from the movie and their associated storyboards because I would have liked to be able to see something like this myself before I made this movie. I have commented on the scenes depicted in the spirit of sharing my experience so that others might learn from my mistakes in addition to their own. What I have included is some thoughts about my process, some of the considerations that went into the directorial choices I made, and what I would do differently next time. Please use (or don’t) whatever is useful to you, and do remember to take everything that follows with a grain of salt. If I learned nothing else from my experience, I learned that there is no one way to do anything, and that everyone has their own distinct way to do things that works best for them. Finding your own individual process is what making your first movie (and maybe every one that follows) is all about. I hope that this record will be helpful in finding your way. Individuality is what makes movies, making them and watching them, interesting. Over all, I’d have to say best of luck to anyone out there about embark on their own process—making a movie is a hell of a thing; I highly recommend that you try it.
